Anybody been to the new shopping centre yet? Love it/hate it/indifferent? I've had a couple of walks around and was there yesterday in the pouring rain while Ali Vowles was doing a live news item. I love the new look (small caps) and layout of the...

I think this is part of a national review of all 50mph and 30mph speed limits. There have been a few requests to the town council to ask Wiltshire Council to review various speed limits around the town. Personally, I don't think it helps make road...

Well, some good news and some not so good news. I was pleased to be able to register with the Melksham one in July. I was told there was a 10-week waiting list for first appointments but that they would send a letter nearer the time. Three months ...

Welcome to the Corsham Network!

Corsham Network launched last year and is for anyone with an interest in the town of Corsham, Wiltshire.

We have an interesting and varied discussion forum. You can discuss anything; it doesn't have to relate specifically to Corsham! You can also post photos and videos, advertise events, write blog posts and sell your stuff (stuff you either created or from your own store).

We're a little bit like Facebook, but more interactive and not limited to people you already know. Our list of members is varied and continues to grow. Have a browse around and, if you like what you see, why not sign up? It's a great way to keep in touch with people. We look forward to hearing from you.

Community Speed Watch 2 Replies

This is another item I see up for discussion. Let's hope it's not a zealots' charter, targeting areas already hit by speed limit reductions. Incidentally, I see speed counters are out again in Pick...

Railway Walks Part 1

A few evenings ago, I drove myself and little miss baby to Warmley to embark on the first of what I plan to be a series of railway walks. I parked the car close to the signal box and set myself the challenge of getting to the next station and back. Warmley station marked the start of the walk. Not sure why, but I didn't take a photo of the station. Wish I had now. It has some evocative silhouettes of commuters standing on the old platforms. Free to non-collector

Well, an advert I placed in the Trade-It last week for a sofa I no longer need certainly generated a lot of interest. Having placed it in the "free to collector" section, I've had of the order 10 calls. The end result, sadly, is, as yet, not so positive.

Here's just a selection of the calls I've received.

Caller 1: Sounds keen. Calls several times while I was out and leaves a message, wanting to find out the width of it.
"Two metres" said I.
"Oh" came the reply, "I shall have to do some measur… Continue
